
The Sikhs of Canada raised their voices in favor of the victims of the brutal incident in Manipur
Vancouver: In protest of the gang rape of women of the Kuki Christian community in Manipur under the shadow of the Indian state, the nude parade and the killing of the victim's brother and father, in a protest outside the Indian Consulate in Vancouver, Women and men from the indigenous Manipur community participated and strongly criticized the Indian government. He also called for similar protests across Canada on August 13 and for justice for the victimized women of the Kuki Christian community.
On this occasion, the Sikhs of Canada raised their voices against the oppression of the Indian State together with the victims of the Manipur incident. In this gathering, Bhai Bhupinder Singh Hothi, secretary of Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib of Surrey Delta, said that it is a big misunderstanding to expect justice from India, while the only solution is to separate from India and establish our own state.
Bhai Gurmeet Singh Toor Pattar, Sevadar of Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib Sikh Sari Delta, said that what has happened to the Christian women of Manipur today, it has happened long ago in the form of gang rape and murder of Sikh women across India. On this occasion, everyone raised the slogans of 'Rapist Indian State Murdabad' and invited them to join the protest being held outside the Indian Consulate on August 15. Following in the footsteps of Gurdwara Sahib President Shaheed Bhai Sahib Bhai Hardeep Singh, the Sikhs united with the suffering Kuki community of Manipur raised the slogan of 'Haa Da Naara' and gave proof of humanistic thinking.
In British Columbia, so-called progressive Indo-Canadian organizations, Indian women's organizations and other human rights groups were reluctant to attend the event.
