Sikh Gurdwara in Palatine holding vigil for Las Vegas victims

Sikh Gurdwara in Palatine will host an interfaith candlelight vigil from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 11, to remember the victims of Las Vegas mass shooting.

It'll be at the Sikh Religious Society, 1280 Winnetka St. The evening will begin with prayer and tributes at 6 p.m., followed by the candlelight vigil at 7:15 p.m. and a langar vegetarian meal and fellowship at 7:30 p.m. Officials said dress code will be modest casual and that once inside the Sikh house of worship visitors are asked to remove their shoes. In addition, visitors are asked to cover their heads with a scarf, handkerchief, bandanna or a turban and not carry any tobacco or smoking or intoxicating material.

Interfaith speakers will limit their remarks to three minutes each.
